Hello there and welcome!
I am the incredibly proud Executive Headteacher of The Orchards Primary, and Reaside Academy, and have been with Greenheart Learning Partnership since September 2023 but was a headteacher of a school prior to being at The Orchards. I have been a school leader for 15 years and have a relentless passion for teaching and learning- ensuring that every child, no matter their struggles and differences, achieve a curriculum that is built on critical thinking and challenge; this has been a big part of my leadership journey. I am a mum of 3 primary aged children myself- one aged 12, one aged 8 and one aged 5. Being a mother in this role is helpful because I often say, “what isn’t good enough for my children, isn’t good enough for anyone else’s” so bringing empathy to the role helps us work together positively with parents.
The Orchards is a one form entry school in Northfield, in the South of Birmingham and since I have been at The Orchards, I have been overwhelmed with its sense of community, togetherness and family- it really is a school that is built on love! Our children demonstrate the exact character attributes that we expect from our young people: they are respectful; they are tolerant; they are empathetic; they are compassionate; they make a difference. Here at The Orchards, our mission statement is: ‘Where learning has no limits…’. We believe that every child has a chance at success, and we do not waste a single day guiding, supporting and educating so that every child can reach for the moon… and beyond.
Our pupils, our Trustees, our supportive Greenheart partnership, and our community are the reason we are a thriving and committed team ensuring the best possible learning experiences for our young people. High expectations and challenge for all, inclusivity for all and care is at the heart of how The Orchards operates. We are a family- united in education; united in tolerance and empathy; united in love. A mantra that you’ll hear around our school is… “In a world where you can be anything… be kind”.
We would love for you to follow us on Facebook searching ‘The Orchards Primary Academy, Birmingham’. We share our exciting updates of our curriculum offer and pupil enrichment. If you have any questions, or are interested in coming to visit us then please do not hesitate but to get in touch.
